MY STORY
I have worked for over 10 years with some of the most innovative and creative landscape architecture firms of Scandinavia. Working in such inspiring environments gave me extensive knowledge and also the opportunity to lead some of their most notable projects in Norway. I am grateful my work has somehow contributed to the transformation of Oslo into a greener, more livable and sustainable city.
But my passion for design and architecture was born in the South of Europe, in Madrid at the School of Architecture ETSAM, where I gained my Master in Architecture with Honors in 2009. A deep interest in cultures and people, landscapes and nature took me from Latin America to the Arctic Circle and above. It was then when I found that Landscape Architecture was the perfect combination of all my passions.
All these experiences have shaped my personal approach to landscape architecture that is rooted in science, art and humanities. The aim of my projects is to take the existing site to its full potential by designing with nature for people. Victoria Cobeña Studio is the framework that I have created to continue building landscapes and gardens for people and nature; spaces that uncover the essence and uniqueness of the cultural and natural context and additionally contribute to a more sustainable, livable and beautiful future.
PHILOSOPHY
This practice aims to use landscape and beauty to give answer to human needs and also to the needs of the planet. In a context defined by uncertainties partially resulted from rapid urbanization and nature degradation, this studio is founded based on the belief that landscape architecture design can solve many of the challenges of contemporary societies, add value to the built environment and improve quality of life.

With a strong trust in the power of collaboration, putting peoples’ needs at the center and taking the cultural and physical context as inspiration; we offer design services that are led by a profound sense of aesthetics and sensitivity to the living and non living materials and anchored in scientific knowledge on nature, climate and physical landscape processes. Through this design process we transform sites into memorable experiences of nature.

Our work aims to integrate aesthetic, social and ecological values in landscape architecture projects through design and collaboration. Because every landscape architecture project, regardless of its scale and scope, is a complex matter that involves many actors: from users, private and public institutions and developers to other designers and technical consultants, we believe that it is only through dialogue and close collaboration that this impactful project can be achieved.
Taking advantage of the flexibility of a small organization, this studio has the ambition of providing an even more personal attention based on dialogue and understanding of clients‘ needs and on even closer and stronger collaborations with other individuals and/or organizations, users and/or stakeholders.
